Labor Day, Power Ranch style

Labor Day, Power Ranch style

Labor Day in Power Ranch is hard to miss.  Drive by either of the 2 recreation centers in the community and you will see the American flags along side each lake.  Power Ranch, with it’s strong sense of community, is quite active with numerous activities in any given week.  Holidays are celebrated in a way that makes each holiday it’s own, separate celebration.

Memorial Day, The 4th of July, Labor Day are all acknowledged with American flags lining each lake.  The community even has a parade celebrating the 4th of July with kids riding their decorated bikes or being pulled in a festive wagon.  Even with our blazing heat, friends and neighbors are out on the various holidays celebrating.  As I took pictures today, September 1, 2014, for this blog post, there were people out riding their bikes, walking their baby, taking their dog for a walk, fishing, and there were people headed to the pool(s) as well.

Of all the neighborhoods that I have lived in, Power Ranch is the only one that goes to this extent to offer such a feeling of community, particularly on the holidays.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and are able to refresh with a day off from your labors.  Thank you for reading and Happy Labor Day!
