I am so proud to be a sponsor of the Power Ranch Elementary Boosterthon Fun Run, 2015.  This is a school fundraiser through an organization called Boosterthon Fun Run.  The kids will run laps on Friday, September 18th during school.  Each child has the opportunity to get pledges to raise money. The pledges are either per lap or a flat amount, whichever the donors prefer.

Friday, the kids will run as many laps as possible!  They are provided shirts and a ticker mark is indicated ON the shirt, per lap they complete.  It is an excellent way to have the kids be active, while raising money for the school.

I think it is also pretty amazing that there are messages taught throughout the week relating to the year’s theme.  This year’s theme is “Big World Recess” and the local name, voted by the kids is “Running the World”.   This is all kicked off with a high energy pep rally which was held last week.  The kids are encouraged to collect pledges and they are rewarded with prizes.

I can personally say, that my child LOVES the Fun Run.  Even with asthma, she runs her heart out.  All week this week she asked me to call my parents and ask for pledges.  I told her that she needed to call them but she wouldn’t do it.  Today, she came home from school determined to call them, and she did!  Of course they pledged, thanks Mom and Dad.

I am always curious to learn how much is money raised for the school.  Stay tuned for an updated post with the amount raised.  In the meantime, care to make any guesses how much will be raised?  To help, this is a K-6 school with approximately 750 students.  Good luck!
