Power Ranch Support Offered To Local Special Olympics

Local Special Olympics Swim Team Gets Support From Power Ranch

Power Ranch Community Association is offering support to the local Special Olympics.  Power Ranch has offered the use of The Ranch House pool to The Gilbert Roadrunners  for their swim team practices.  Power Ranch has 2 swimming pools in the community. The design of The Ranch House pool lends itself to be used as a lap pool.  The Special Olympics, Gilbert Roadrunners, will use a portion of The Ranch House pool, on Friday nights.  There is still plenty of room for other Power Ranch residents to utilize the pool during their practices.

Power Ranch – “The Power of Community”

Power Ranch’s slogan is “the power of community“.  This is clearly evident with their support of the local Special Olympics.  Personally, I find this to be exciting.  The fact that Power Ranch is opening up one of their main amenities for a greater cause says a great deal about the type of community Power Ranch is, one that gives back.  The Special Olympics, The Gilbert Roadrunners, is still looking for a permanent place to have their swim team practice.  For now, this seems to be a good fit.  Way to go Power Ranch and best of luck to The Special Olympics Gilbert Roadrunners!

Things to Do in Arizona

Things to Do in Arizona

Are you looking for things to do in Arizona?  Arizona Foothills Magazine shared a list of “100 Things to See and Do in the Arizona”.  Browse this list for a plethora of ideas of things to do throughout Arizona. As a native to Arizona, I have been throughout most of the state.

Most of us who live in the Valley, like to find a place up North to retreat to in the summer in an effort to escape the intense heat.  Flagstaff, Prescott, & Sedona are just a few of the places to venture to.   Jerome, and Verde Valley, & Cottonwood offer a smaller town charm.  I would be remiss if I did not mention the Grand Canyon.  It is a must see no matter the weather. These places are often visited in the winter time as well in search of the elusive white stuff (snow).  Flagstaff has Snowbowl for skiing, and plenty of places throughout town to sled as well.   Christmas time conjures up all kinds of excitement and Arizona delivers once again with it’s Polar Express that each child is sure to enjoy.

One of my all time favorite places to visit in any season is Greer,AZ

This small town beauty is near and dear to my heart with it’s beauty, charm, and kind people, and located just minutes from Sunrise Ski Resort.   Arizona has so much to offer from rugged mountains to flat desert and these are just a few places to consider.   Share with me some of your favorite places you have visited in Arizona.

First Day of School at Power Ranch & Centennial Schools

The long-awaited day has arrived – The First Day of School for Power Ranch Elementary and Centennial Elementary.  Wow.  The first day jitters, the excitement, what clothes to wear on the first day of school, and new backpacks.  The kids were so excited to see their friends yet so nervous to be in a new classroom!

Did you know Power Ranch Elementary has a new front office!  Have you seen it yet?  It was quite the remodel.  When things settle down, I will see if they will allow me to post a picture in my blog.

This year, both my kiddos are entering unique classroom settings.  One has the same teacher from 2 years ago – we couldn’t be more thrilled.  The other is in a unique setting and while there is a new teacher, there are support staff that are returning.  All of this got me thinking, send the teachers a first day of school gift!

If you have ever volunteered in an elementary classroom, you could agree that there are never enough sharpened pencils.  I hope they all enjoy their first day of school.

Happy 2014-2015 school year to The Power Ranch Panthers and The Centennial Cardinals!
